Mutual Aid Agreements (MAA's) provide for the sharing of supplies, equipment, personnel and information across jurisdictional boundaries. Ships Point Improvement District has MAA's in place for both our fire protection services and our water operations. SPID fire department has two MAA's in place - one with Deep Bay/RDN and Fanny Bay Fire Dept/CVRD and one with Comox Valley Regional District, Courtenay, Cumberland, Union Bay Improvement District and Campbell River. Our water department has one MAA with the Comox Valley Regional District, Cumberland, Union Bay Improvement District and the K'omoks First Nation.

**Complete FIRE BAN in effect immediately**
Effective today, July 12, 2024, a complete Fire Ban is in place across the Comox Valley, including Ships Point. Under a complete fire ban, all wood burning fires, including campfires, are prohibited. The following equipment and activities are also prohbited:
NO: Fireworks; Sky Lanterns; Burn Barrels or Burn Cages of any size or description; Binary Exploding Targets; Air curtain burners; Tiki and similar kind of torches; Chimineas.
CSA/ULC approved propane fire devices are still allowed.
