Welcome to the Ships Point Improvement District website.
The Ships Point Improvement District, locally known as SPID, provides water services, fire protection, and first responder services to the residents of Ships Point. In 2020, we completed a three phase water systems improvement and water main replacement project. Our water mains were replaced with new 6 inch/15cm pipes, and new fire hydrants capable of delivering in excess of 4500 liters of water per minute were installed. SPID has a back-up generator which enables us to deliver water for domestic consumption and fire protection.
Our water comes from four wells. All of our water is chlorinated to meet Vancouver Island Health Authority requirements.
